Program Description

The practice of retreating to explore the inner self has roots that stretch back over 5,000 years – from the ancient mystics and the revered philosophers of the old world to the indigenous wisdom healers and modern-day spiritual leaders. Today, this ancient practice remains relevant, supporting individuals to uncover innate tools for leading a more authentic life.

Informed and expanded by cutting-edge research in neuroscience, biochemistry, and technology, silent mindfulness retreats are an opportunity to experience a reprieve from the fast-paced, tech-driven, and stressful aspects of modern life. They provide a sanctuary for individuals to reconnect with themselves and their values.

More About the Program

Retreat experiences and their associated benefits vary widely from person to person and may include the following:

  • Stepping-away from the assault of distractions and interruptions
  • Experiencing silence and stillness
  • Cultivating paying attention to your mind and body and meeting each moment with an open mind
  • Nurturing an open heart with compassion to be less judgmental of self and others
  • Discovering a deeper understanding of  thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations
  • Becoming more aligned with your core self, more aware of the world around you, and the intersection of the two
  • Reducing the symptoms of stress and suffering
  • Restoring and recharging mentally, physically, and emotionally for a healthier life

Instructors offer gentle and compassionate guidance to nurture a safe and supportive environment throughout the experience, including dedicated one-on-one meeting opportunities as individual needs arise.

The benefits of a mindfulness retreat can be transformative over a lifetime as you integrate your practice and learnings into daily routines.

This retreat is suitable for anyone wishing to deepen their practice and cultivate further understanding of mindfulness meditation. It may also be of interest to those teaching or aspiring to teach mindfulness in a variety of settings.

Please note: This retreat fulfills one of the retreat requirements for MBSR, MBCT and other teacher training programs at many teacher training organizations.

This specific retreat is a traditional mindfulness meditation retreat, offering silent periods of sitting and walking meditation as well as times for practice discussions. Each day there will be a talk and systematic meditation instructions on the four foundations of mindfulness that are embedded in lovingkindness. These teachings and practices will emphasize quieting the mind, opening the heart, and developing clarity, wisdom, and compassion; and foster the depth of practice.

Who is this for?

This retreat is open to all who wish to practice mindfulness and is specifically designed for those interested in a mindfulness-based approach to meditation and yoga practice.
